PROJECT OVERVIEW

THE ARTIST + RELEASE

“SLUT PRINCESS” is a collaboration between club-pop artist Dirty Versachi and DEVAURA. Dirty Versachi is the artist project of MIMO Digital’s founder, making this an artist-led case study in applying MIMO’s release framework to a real independent-artist budget.

THE CHALLENGE

Working with limited spend, the campaign needed to do more than create reach. The goal was to build genuine listener intent before release, translate that intent into Spotify activity as soon as the track went live and maintain momentum after launch without treating impressions as the primary measure of success.

Every decision was made against an artist-owned budget, with each stage designed to generate actions that could carry value beyond the advertisement itself.

CAMPAIGN STRATEGY

STAGE 01

BUILDING PRE-RELEASE INTENT

The campaign began with Meta advertising connected to a tracked pre-save smart-link funnel. Rather than optimise around surface-level reach, the campaign focused on the smart-link action used to move interested listeners closer to saving the release on Spotify.

STAGE 02

CONVERTING RELEASE-WEEK ATTENTION

When the track became available, the campaign shifted from pre-save activity to the live Spotify release. Meta advertising continued directing interested listeners through a tracked smart link, with the release phase reducing the cost per result to US$0.25.

By 17 July, Spotify for Artists recorded 5,343 streams, 1,622 saves and 382 playlist adds.

The save and playlist-add totals showed that listener activity extended beyond passive streaming. These are high-intent actions that indicate listeners wanted to return to the release.

STAGE 03

DISCOVERY BEYOND THE PAID CAMPAIGN

The paid campaign established a base of release activity. Discovery then extended through three distinct Spotify pathways: listener-led engagement, editorial curation and programmed recommendations.

SPOTIFY EDITORIAL RECOGNITION

“SLUT PRINCESS” was selected for Spotify editorial playlists Pop n’ Fresh and GLOW AU & NZ. These placements are presented as wider release outcomes and are not attributed solely to Meta advertising.

ARTIST-LED, ARTIST-TESTED

Because this was MIMO Digital’s founder’s own release, the campaign was managed with the same constraints independent clients face: a finite budget, a defined release window and a need for every dollar to serve a clear purpose. The strongest outcome was not a one-day spike. It was establishing high-intent activity at launch and seeing the release continue growing through listeners, editors and Spotify-programmed discovery.
